Setting Up How Users Receive Their Results

To set up how your users receive their assessment results, start by entering the Assessment Generator editor.

First, select the “Edit” link in the menu underneath your assessment.

Edit Simple Assessment

Then click on the “Results” tab at the top of the page.

Results Tab

The Results page is where you can arrange how your users will receive their assessment results.

Setting How Users Receive Their Results

Scroll down to the middle section, entitled “How Users Receive Their Assessment Results”.

How Users Receive Their Results

There are three options here for you to choose from.

  1. Show users their assessment results directly in their browser screen.
  2. Send users their results via email.
  3. Provide a printable PDF report of their assessment results.  If this option is selected, the PDF will be provided via email and/or in the browser, depending on which of those other options you’ve chosen.

Editing On-Screen Results

To edit the on-screen results, select the checkbox next to “On Screen” and click on the “Edit On-Screen Results” button.

Edit On-Screen Results Button

The “On-Screen Results Setup” editor opens on your screen. You can add some header text, images, and/or a video into the top of the editor window.

On-Screen Results Setup

This content will precede the score interpretation (or the type description, if you’re using a type-based assessment) on the browser screen after each user completes your assessment.

Next, you have several options from which to choose:

  • Decide whether or not you would like to show users their numeric scores
Show Numeric Scores
  • Opt to include a graphic representation of users’ results.
Show Chart in Results
  • Include all the assessment questions and the user’s responses.
Show Questions and Responses
  • Add a button so users can share their assessment results on Facebook
Include a button to share assessment results to Facebook

Next, you can decide which score explanation text is shown to the users.

Show score explanation text setting

The default setting is to only show the results explanation for the score range that corresponds to the user’s score.

However, you can choose to show the results explanation for ALL score ranges or you can opt to not show any at all.

At the bottom of the page is an editor window for some footer or additional explanatory text.  This is a great place to put a link to your website or your contact information.

Click the “Save” button to return to the “Results” page.

Redirect to a Destination URL

If you would rather redirect users to your website instead of showing their results in the browser, you can decide that here. Simply un-check the box for “On-Screen” results and enter the destination URL in the field below.

Editing Emailed Results

Next, to edit the emailed results click on the “Edit Results” button.

Edit Emailed Results Button

The options available here are the same as for the on-screen results, but there are some key differences to consider.

First, when adding your email header text, you may want to personalize the greeting with the user’s first name.

(You will need to have the “Request User Name During Registration” field checked on the Results page to do this. See Setting Up User Registration Options for more details.)

Email Results Setup Window

Be careful to avoid including videos in your emailed results as it can negatively affect email deliverability. It’s best to stick with text and images to ensure that your users receive their results.

As with the on-screen results, you have several options from which to choose:

  • Decide whether or not you would like to show users their numeric scores

  • Opt to include a graphic representation of users’ results.
Show Chart in Results
  • Include all the assessment questions and the user’s responses.

Once again, click the “Save” button to return to the Results page.

Editing PDF Results

Lastly, to edit the PDF results click on the “Edit PDF Results” button.

The fields offered here are similar to those available in the on-screen and emailed results options.

Since this is a report, it often makes sense to use a similar header and footer here to those you might set up for on-screen results.

Click the “Save” button to return to the “Results” page.
