Our clients often ask us if it’s possible to display an assessment on their website. This is understandable since your assessments are your creations and you want to showcase them directly on your website.
That’s why I’m happy to report that it IS possible to embed your assessment on your website.
That is, you can display your assessment on your website, even though it is still being hosted on Assessment Generator servers.
Here are several ways to provide assessment access to your visitors from your website:
Provide a simple hyperlink
Add enticing text to your website, such as “Take our assessment”, and then link to your assessment URL to that text.
Link your assessment URL to a screenshot image
Take a screenshot image of the first page of your assessment, place it on your website, and link that image to your assessment URL.
It would look something like this:
The image above is linked to the assessment at https://www.assessmentgenerator.com/ag.php?id=51
You can also put your assessment URL inside of an iFrame on your website.
Your assessment will appear to be live on your website, even though it is still hosted at Assessment Generator.
Below is the iFrame code to use to embed your assessment. Place this code snippet inside the body of your website and replace the XXXX with the ID of your assessment. You can find your assessment ID by selecting “Add to Site” from the Actions drop-down menu in your Assessment Generator account.
When you use this code, your assessment will occupy the full width of the web page. It will also work on mobile devices.
<div> <iframe src="http://www.assessmentgenerator.com/ag.php?id=XXXX" style="width:100%; height:1000px; border:none"></iframe> </div>
You may need to adjust the height of the iFrame
(height: 1000px;) to accommodate your particular assessment.
We’ve created two examples of embedding assessments using iframes.
The first one is a simple example where the assessment occupies the whole page.
In the second example, the assessment occupies the left column of the page, and other site content is on the right. Press ctrl-U in your browser to view the source of those pages.
If you wish to have your assessment occupy only a portion of the page, for example in a sidebar alongside other content, contact your web developer to modify the styling of the iFrame so that it fits into your design.
