GPDR and Protecting Your Clients’ Privacy

You may have noticed your inbox filling up with notices from online businesses about new privacy policies. Don’t worry, you’re not alone!

The European Union (EU) has a new privacy regulation that goes into effect on 25 May 2018.  It is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and it affects everyone who collects information about any EU citizens.

How Our Updated Privacy Policy Affects You

For assessments that request a user’s name and/or email address, we have made a couple of changes to Assessment Generator that will ensure that your assessments are in compliance with this new rule.

When a user is prompted to enter their contact information at the end of your assessment, they will be required to select a checkbox indicating that they agree to a data use statement.

Beginning on May 25, 2018, this checkbox and the data use agreement will be added to assessments. The data use statement has been added to all Assessment Generator accounts and you can modify it now. This gives you an opportunity to customize your statement before your users see it.

We have added a default statement to your account that you can customize for each of your assessments if you wish:

Click here to acknowledge that the creator of this assessment will use the information you provided in the assessment to process your responses and provide an analysis of your results at the email address provided above. Your contact information will also be used to follow up with additional information and marketing. You can change your mind at any time and stop receiving these communications by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email that you receive from the assessment creator.

Customizing Your Privacy Message

You can customize the content of this statement for each of your assessments if you wish. You may include a link to your privacy policy using an HTML link.

Here’s how to customize your data use agreement:

  1. Log into your account and find the assessment you’d like to modify
  2. In Actions drop-down menu, select Edit Assessment
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Edit Results
  4. Find the field labeled “Opt-in Consent Text” and modify the content as needed
  5. Save your assessment

Remember, your statement will not appear on your assessment until May 25.

In addition to the statement that you provide, we will also include a brief statement describing how Assessment Generator will use the data:

By clicking below to submit this form, you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to Assessment Generator for processing in accordance with their privacy policy. Assessment Generator will never distribute your email address nor contact you.
