Embedding Assessments on Your Web Page

It IS possible to embed your assessment on your website.

That is, you can display your assessment on your website, even though it is still being hosted on Assessment Generator servers.

There are several ways to provide assessment access to your visitors on your website.  These include:

  1. Providing a simple hyperlink, such as “Take our assessment” and then linking to your assessment URL.
  2. Taking a screen shot image of the first page of your assessment, and then placing it on your website and linking that image to your assessment URL

It would look something like this:

The image above is linked to the assessment at: https://www.assessmentgenerator.com/ag.php?id=51

3.  Adding an iFrame to your web page and putting the assessment URL inside an iFrame – this will make your assessment appear to be live at your site, even though it is still hosted at Assessment Generator.

Below is the iFrame code to use to embed your assessment.  Place it inside the body of your website and replace the XXXX with the ID of your assessment.  Your assessment ID can be found by selecting “Add to Site” from the Actions drop-down menu in your Assessment Generator account.

When you use this code your assessment will occupy the full width of the web page. It will also work on mobile devices.

<div>
<iframe src=”http://www.assessmentgenerator.com/ag.php?id=XXXX” style=”position:absolute; top:0; left:0; width:100%; height:100%; border:none”></iframe>
</div>

We’ve created two examples of embedding assessments using iframes.  The first one is a simple example where the assessment occupies the whole page. In the second example, the assessment occupies the left column of the page, and other site content is on the right. Press ctrl-U in your browser to view the source of those pages.

If you wish to have your assessment occupy only a portion of the page, for example in a sidebar alongside other content, contact your web developer to modify the styling of the iFrame so that it fits into your design.
